Pride in Pictures: The Bunny Edition

So Bobs and I went to the Atlanta Gay Pride Festival & Parade today. It was the first time for both of us, and we really enjoyed it. I only wish it 1) had been cooler and 2) we could have stayed longer. It was a lot of fun to be in a crowd of such accepting people. Here are my photos from the day. Link over to Bobs' blog for more pics.

The Atlanta Gay Men's Rugby Team

Ms. Atlanta Cotillion 2010....a drag Cotillion that raises money for AID Atlanta.

 The Atlanta Gay Marching Band....

....who played "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga!

The flag corp for the Gay Marching Band

The giant Chipotle burrito balloon

Digging Dykes of Decatur, a new twist on the ladies' garden club

PFLAG, Parents and Friends of Lesbians And Gays.....
this group received one of the biggest cheers from the crowd

Have to give props to this guy who was dancing on top of a moving vehicle!

 Yeah, Atlanta Humane Society!

 So fabulous!
I was very encouraged at the large showing from area churches
in the parade, from Ellijay to Athens, GA!

 Go Macy's!

Loved this float and the "headdresses"

 Gotta drink more Smirnoff

The GIGANTIC Pride flag which covered BLOCKS... people threw donations inside...
and look at the HUGE crowd in the background

40 Years of Pride...Wow....And hats off to Delta for being THE parade sponsor

Ok, I was a little "WTF?" with this one

Gay Veterans....this group also received a loud round of cheers from the crowd

In all it was a fun day, but more importantly, inspiring and encouraging. It was good to see such a large crowd of all ages, genders and races come to support the festival. And I was glad to be a part of it. Straight but not narrow, B.

JOTE, it was pretty awesome. You and Jeanne should come next year and we can make a weekend of it! :)

So awesome to see all the groups showing suppport.

I have too many friends and relatives that were rejected and bullied by members of their own families, so I have a special place in my heart for PFLAG.
